North Sydney. The hub of all businesses, here everyone wears the same type of corporate uniform and walk to the same beat almost like a subtle army invasion. The people here hold on to their cappuccinos for dear life almost as if this caffeinated drink is some form of life support, marching to the same rhythm with their impeccable style and peep-toe heels.
The people who work here rely on their daily skim lattes to give them that buzz that they need in order to keep up the city’s fast paced life-style, after-all living in North Sydney is high maintenance. A bit like a mistress if you think about it, her streets are adorned with vintage houses that have roses blooming on their balconies. The ocean sways gently and almost elegantly as it hugs the bodice of this suburb, extenuating on her curves, seducing and enticing her audience.
Down here it is almost wrong to walk around in anything less than a classy outfit, unless it is time for your after-noon run of course, as co-workers jog together with their iPods in their Adidas shoes. After all even though North Sydney is on the other side of the bridge, just like every other woman out there she knows that those sleek curves come at a price.
As the afternoon heat creates a warm fuzzy and almost inviting atmosphere you can see that she glows with pride as the ocean glistens gently under the sun and the beautiful blue sky acts as a cape. It is at this time of the day that her beauty is most evident, as she attempts day after day to entice these corporate workers to step outside their daily constraints and really take a breath of fresh air. Every day she hopes that someday we will succumb to her irresistible charm like Eve did with the forbidden fruit and step outside to truly enjoy what this city has to offer.
What we fail to realize is that instead of relying on stimulants like coffee and energy drinks to get us through the day, all we really need is to really step outside and look at what this city has to offer. With its breath taking views and limited yet vast greenery it is not hard to find your own paradise in this fast paced city.
After all if you let her she can inspire you in ways like no other and provide you with that uplifting sense of encouragement to get through another one of those shitty weeks, because like that ever famous saying “behind every successful man is a strong, independent and beautiful woman”.
